Board of Directors
Keondra Hampton – Vice President & Acting President
I would like to continue to serve on the Board of KLA Memorial. I support the mission and vision of the organization.
Secretary – Recruiting
Terrence Relph – Treasurer
I believe that this organization makes a tremendous difference in the lives of individuals and families. Its mission to educate and empower people positively impacts a wide range of people and aligns with my passion to serve others.
Pastor Korie Anderson – Chaplain
I joined this organization at the bequest of the visionary Tomeka Walker. Dr. Walker is a true champion for human rights and especially women’s rights. After listening to the testimony of Dr. Walker, I was compelled to become a part. Although my time is limited, I do my best to support the cause.
Board Members
Dr. Rachel Sinkey
Dr. Tomeka Walker has been an integral part of our health equity network that is dedicated to supporting robust research to investigate ways to improve prenatal health care access and outcomes for all patients. I was connected to Dr. Walker through colleagues at Connection Health, and it has been inspiring to hear about her journey and how she turned a devastating event into an opportunity to offer hope and care to so many. Because of this, I would like to partner with the team at Khairi and Little Angels’ to support their mission to provide support for families as they navigate difficult circumstances.
Dr. Linda Ugwu
I appreciate the mission of the organization from both a professional and personal standpoint. I have had pregnancy losses and fully understand the need for support and healing. I am looking forward to being of service.
Kayla Torres-Benson
I am passionate about improving maternal and child health outcomes, particularly in underserved communities. My background as a Community Health Worker (CHW) and my current work in public health have provided me with firsthand experience in addressing health disparities and advocating for equitable healthcare access. Khairi and Little Angels’ Memorial’s mission aligns deeply with my commitment to supporting families who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss, ensuring they receive the care, resources, and advocacy they deserve. As a board member, I would contribute my expertise in CHW interventions, maternal and child health, and community engagement to help strengthen the organization’s impact. I also bring experience in program development, strategic planning, and public health initiatives that can support the organization’s growth and sustainability.
Together, we remain committed to healing hearts and empowering families through
meaningful service, advocacy, and community impact.
Governance Statement
Khairi and Little Angels’ Memorial (KLA Memorial) maintains a clear distinction between governance and organizational management.
The Board President serves as the leader of the Board of Directors and is responsible for supporting effective Board governance, presiding over Board meetings, facilitating the Board’s oversight responsibilities, and helping ensure that the Board fulfills its fiduciary, strategic, and policy-making duties. The Board President does not manage the day-to-day operations of the organization or independently supervise organizational staff.
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive of KLA Memorial and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, administration, programs, operations, staff and volunteer management, partnerships, fundraising implementation, and execution of the organization’s strategic priorities and Board-approved policies.
The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Directors as a whole. The Board President serves as a primary liaison between the Board and the Executive Director but does not independently exercise the authority of the full Board unless specifically authorized to do so by the Board.
This structure ensures that the Board maintains appropriate governance and oversight while allowing the Executive Director the authority necessary to effectively manage and advance the mission of KLA Memorial.
