Dr. Tomeka Walker – Founder and Executive Director

Khairi and Little Angels’ Memorial was founded by Dr. Tomeka Walker following the loss of her only child, Khairi, in 2014.

What began as a deeply personal journey through grief became a calling from God to serve other families facing similar challenges. Through faith, perseverance, and a commitment to helping others, Dr. Walker transformed her pain into purpose by establishing an organization dedicated to supporting families impacted by infant loss while addressing broader maternal and infant health concerns.

Over the years, her passion for advocacy, education, and community service has helped shape KLA into a trusted resource for families across Alabama. As a minister, licensed Christian counselor, certified childbirth educator, author, and nonprofit leader, Dr. Walker continues to champion efforts that promote healthier pregnancies, emotional wellness, family support, and infant loss awareness.

Today, KLA stands as a testament to the belief that even life’s greatest challenges can be transformed into opportunities to serve, uplift, and create meaningful change.
